R.I.P Trixy: Feb. 12, 2003 - Feb. 9th, 2014. Wow.. don’t know what to say… you will be missed my little trouble maker. It’s hard to say good bye to something that at one time you could hold in the palm of your hand. I am heartbroken. Love them while you got them. #rat #chihuahua #shitszu #poodle #mix #mansbestfriend #dog #family #photowall #photographybyjoe #pbjstudios #brokenheart #sad #day (at Addison IL)
tumblrbot asked: WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER WHEN YOU ARE IN A BAD MOOD?
Usually time alone help me get over what is bothering me… I tend to like to go exploring and grab a camera and just go…. seems that walking helps me.
Today I decided to head out to Chi - beria, as I have seen one of my photographer friends refer to it, to test my metal against the cold, snow and ice. Needless to say the hump to the spot to get a skyline shot was quite long enough to begin to sweat. After almost busting my butt on the icy rocks I finally made it. If any of you have come out with me on any of my photo excursions you know I don’t play when it come to packing my gear. After feeling the chill begin to creep up through my back I decided it was time to hump the 1/2 or 3/4 mile back to my car. The Chicago shoreline doesn’t look forgiving in this weather where one slip and your in the drink.
Right around this time my stomach usually begins to grumble because I am hungry. I decided to go to David’s Grill on Halsted and Cermak. I had eaten here a couple of times with another photographer that goes by the name of Mark Niemi, older gentleman and pretty good photographer, this place is the greasy spoon of all greasy spoons… you know your in a dive when they give you a plastic spoon to stir your coffee and you can see the smokiness of whatever is cooking on the grill in the air and the Mexican cook screaming “very good, very good!”.
Like all dive breakfast joints this place serves the same type of faire… I am particular to the Skirt steak and egg special… but heck you can even get menudo here if your a bit hungover. I grew up going to places like this with my pops when I was a kid. It brings back a lot of memories. So if your ever looking for an out of the way place for breakfast in Chicago where the prices are fair come to David’s Grill on the corner of Halsted and Cermak in Chicago’s Southside.
Ahh Yah! I got 50 posts!
